I'm leaving freelancing and trying to create my own business

First attempts to create my own brand of unique plush cases for phones and tablets.

March 2017
I'm rebranding my online store in Ukraine

My phone case store is transforming into a gift shop.

We’ve crossed the milestone of 1,000 sales.

In the past two years, we have perfected our product, set up our office, and achieved our first 1,000 sales.

May 2020
A steep drop in sales and a shifting market

The first crisis. Competitors started copying us. Advertising costs increased. And marketplaces took over a huge share of the market.

We sign contracts with marketplaces and stabilize the situation
We were able to bring stability to our sales and achieve over 5,000 sales.
February 2022
The war in Ukraine begins. Nobody needs gifts anymore. The store shuts down.
A terrible incident that destroys lives as well as businesses. By then, we had become leaders in the gift niche and surpassed 12,000 clients.
JANUARY 2023
I move to the USA, working, adapting, and trying to create something meaningful.
The period when you have to start everything from scratch. You are like a child who is just learning to walk and explore the world.
August 2025
My store made $100k in sales. I released a book and a course.
It took me two years, $40,000 in losses, and countless mistakes. But I turned every failure into experience – and finally created a product that’s truly worth it.

Everything that feels ordinary to you was overwhelming for me.

My introduction to the United States didn’t begin with walks in Beverly Hills or the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It began with desperately searching for any kind of work, holding a translator app in my hand.

After a week, I managed to save enough money to rent an old Toyota Prius. That car became my home for the next three months. I slept in it, ate in it, worked in it.

Imagine arriving in a country where you don’t speak the language, don’t understand how banks work, and even buying food at the store feels impossible. When the cashier asks you a question, you just smile and nod. But to buy food, you first need to figure out how to earn money.

My first year in the U.S. was nothing but constant stress – but also constant growth. The immigrant’s path feels ten times harder. At first, you’re just trying to survive and understand the world around you. That’s why I say: you already have more resources than any immigrant who came here with nothing.

Through discipline and hard work, from early mornings until late nights, I moved forward step by step. Every day I studied, worked, and adapted. But you – you can immediately put your resources toward what truly matters, because you already have everything else.

The only reason people born in the U.S. fail to succeed is laziness and the refusal to learn.

In my book, I emphasize the entrepreneurial mindset, discipline, and personal responsibility. These are the qualities that will help you not only in business, but in every area of life.

You must become someone you’ll be proud of. It won’t be easy — but if it were, everyone would do it.
